Hospitals asked for separate arrangements for COVID-19, other patients

The government has asked all government and private hospitals having 50 beds or above to ensure separate arrangements for COVID-19 and other patients.

The health services division issued a circular in this regard on May 24 in consultation with the public health experts and a proposal made by the Directorate General of Health Services for ensuring treatment for all patients.

Additional secretary Md Sirajul Islam signed the circular that asked the hospital managements to ensure treatment for all patients at the hospitals making separate arrangements for COVID-19 patients in the existing facilities.

The government earlier asked all government and non-government hospitals, clinics and diagnostics to ensure treatment of both COVID-19 and other patients in the wake of allegations that people were being denied treatment in the face of the novel coronavirus outbreak across the country.
