Dr. Pran Gopal Datta (born 1 October 1953) is a Bangladeshi physician, politician and incumbent Member of Parliament representing Comilla-7 constituency. He is the former Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). In 2012, he was awarded the "Independence Award in Medicine" by the Government of Bangladesh for his outstanding general contribution to medical care. On 20 September 2021, he was elected unopposed Member of Parliament in the by-election of Comilla-7 seat.

Datta was born in Mohichail, Chandina of Comilla district. He is the second among 4 sons and 3 daughters of father Kala Chan Dutta and mother Kiran Prabha Dutta. He studied in Mohichail High School till 8th standard. Matriculated from Chandina Pilot High School in Comilla in 1968. He passed Intermediate in 1970 from Victoria Government College, Comilla. After that he passed MBBS from Chittagong Medical College in 1976 and went to the then Soviet Union with a scholarship on January 20, 1980, first obtained a Master's (MS), and later a PhD degree, and returned home on July 7, 1983.

Dutta started his career in 1977 as a first class government officer. He was an assistant professor at Chittagong Medical College and Rangpur Medical College by joining the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). He was also engaged in Sir Salimullah Medical College as a professor. He joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 1999 as Professor and Chairman of ENT Department. In 2000 he got the position of treasurer and served in this position till 2009. He was the Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University from 2009 to 2015.

Dutta started politics while studying at Comilla Victoria Government College. He was actively associated with Chhatra League politics. He is the Senior Vice President of Comilla North District Awami League.

On 30 July 2021, Member of Parliament for Comilla-7 Constituency Ali Ashraf passed away, and Dutta was elected as Member of Parliament on 20 September 2021 unopposed in the by-election of the vacant seat.
