The capturing of polling stations, widespread ballot stuffing, snatching of ballot papers and intimidation of rivals by ruling Awami League activists marked the first-ever partisan elections to 234 municipalities on Wednesday when a man was killed and 150 were wounded in violence.
Stamping, stuffing in absence of BNP agents
Local ruling party men and leaders of its associate bodies at most of the polling centres of Munshiganj municipality were found instructing the activists to force the voters to cast votes for ‘boat’ or stamp on the party symbol in the ballot papers.
