Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman (born 08 March 1957) is a Bangladeshi Physician, Businessman, politician, incumbent state minister and Member of Parliament representing Dhaka-19 constituency. He is the current state minister of Disaster Management & Relief since 7th January 2019.

Enam is a benevolent political personality of Bangladesh. He has been playing a vital role in social, political, cultural and other areas of development of the country for long since. He completed M.B.B.S from Chittagong Medical College in 1983. He was a member of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) in Health and was employed in Government service from 1983 to 1992. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for constituency of Dhaka-19 firstly in 10th general election of 2014 and 11th general election in 2018 for second time from Bangladesh Awami League.

Enam is the Founder Chairman of Enam Medical College Hospital, the largest private Medical College Hospital in the country. He provided free treatment and other health services to the victim and injured people of Rana Plaza collapse, Spectrum Garments collapse and devastating fire of Tazreen Garments. He served the societies by opening special treatment cell for unknown, unidentified and deprived patients. He also formed Enam Medical College Hospital Charity Trust in this regard. He sent a Special Medical Team to provide health services for victims and injured people of devastating earth quake in Nepal. Besides, under direct leadership and guidance of Enam a team of doctors from Enam Medical College Hospital provided health services in Cox’sbazar to the forcibly displaced Rohinga people from Myanmar in 2017. He played pivotal role to organize 156 Satellite Medical Center during severe flood in 1988 and provided voluntary medical services during flood in 1998, 2004 and 2007. He also played an organizing role to provide health services to the deadliest tornado victim people at Saturia, Manikganj in April, 1989.

Enam served as a Member of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Bangladesh Chapter as well as a member of Parliamentarian Caucus on Child Rights and Parliamentarian Caucus on disability. He is also a member of Bangladesh Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (BAPPD). Enam is a member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry and a member of Dhaka Transport Co-ordination Authority. He is a Life Member of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) as well as life member of Sadhinota Chikitshok Parishad (SACHIP). He is a Vice President of Dhaka Zila Awami League. He is the President of Private Hospital Owner’s Association of Savar and Secretary General of Bangladesh Private Medical College Association (BPMCA).

Enam played an organizing role and himself actively took part in the student movement by Bangladesh Chhatra League against the then Governor Nurul Amin on declaration of bending the publication of the book “Desh o Kristi” and cancellation of from the syllabus for class Eight. As a member of Bangladesh Chhatra League, he took part actively in Mass Movements on 11 points in 1969. In 1970, during the National Election Enam did much work in favor of Bangladesh Awami League and after election he took part in all the political activities directed by the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He played a vital role in 1971 by translating Urdu letters and messages written by Pakistan Army, Al-bador and Rajakars to let the freedom fighters know the next plan of the enemy.

Starting his duty as the Minister of State, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Enam vowed to eradicate corruption from the ministry and all its field offices. He requests all the officials to exercise integrity in all spheres of life. He seeks cooperation from all his colleagues in the ministry as well as from the public representatives, political leaders, reporters and all stakeholders directly or indirectly related with the businesses of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
