Dr. A B M Abdullah (born 1954) is a Bangladeshi physician, academic and the personal physician of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh and the Bangla Academy awarded him an honorary fellowship in 2017.

Abdullah was born in Islampur upazila under Jamalpur district. He started his education at Hariyabari Primary School and completed his secondary education from Islampur Nekjahan High School in 1969. After completing his higher secondary education from Dhaka College in 1972, he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College. In 1978 he obtained his MBBS degree.

Abdullah provided medical services in the village for some time after passing MBBS. He later joined Dhaka Medical College as a doctor. After working as a doctor in Saudi Arabia for five years, he was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians in London in 1992. From there he came to the country after obtaining MRCP degree and worked as a consultant in the Department of Medicine of Holy Family Medical College for two years. He joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (then PG Hospital) in 1995 as an Assistant Professor through PSC examination. Later, after serving as the Professor and Dean of the Department of Medicine of BSMMU, he was appointed to the Prime Minister's Personal Physician on 24 December 2019 as the Secretary ranked staff.

Abdullah has been writing regularly on public health awareness. He has authored more than six medical books for medical students, most notably- Short Cases in Clinical Medicine, Long Cases in Clinical Medicine, ECG in Medical Practice, Case History and Data Interpretation in Medical Practice, Radiology in Medical Practice, and Practical Manual in Clinical Medicine. All these medical books written by him are taught in various medical universities in the Arab world including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Britain.
