Mahbubul Alam Hanif (born 2 January 1959) is a Bangladeshi politician, businessman and incumbent Member of Parliament representing Kushtia-3 constituency. Hanif is currently the Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League.  He has been the incumbent Member of the Parliament from Kushtia-3 since 2014. He was elected the Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League in 2009. He worked at the Prime Minister's Office as the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from 2009 to 2013. He has twice been elected as a Member of Parliament from Kushtia-3 constituency in the 10th and 11th general elections.

Hanif was born at his ancestral home village Sholdag in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia district. He grew up in Pakshi Railway Colony due to his father being a railway official. And here he completed his primary and secondary education. Later he was admitted in Dhaka College. In college life he actively participated in the politics of Dhaka College Chhatra League. He later obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees with honors in management from Dhaka University.

Hanif started his political career in his early life as a member of Bheramara Thana Awami League, then served as a member, joint general secretary and vice-president of Kushtia district Awami League.

In 1996, Hanif participated in the 7th parliamentary elections in Kushtia-2 constituency (Mirpur-Bheramara) as a party parliamentary candidate and again participated in re-election from the same constituency in the 8th parliamentary elections of 2001 but could not win. Although party nominations were received in the adjoining Kushtia-1 constituency (Daulatpur) in the 2007 parliamentary elections, the elections were postponed due to the political situation in the country at that time. Although he was the party's nominee for the Kushtia-2 constituency in the 9th parliamentary elections in 2008, he withdrew his candidature in the interest of coalition elections.

In 2009, for the first time, Hanif got the post of Joint General Secretary of the Central Committee through the 18th Council of Bangladesh Awami League. He was later re-appointed as the Joint General Secretary of the 19th, 20th and 21st Councils held in 2012, 2016 and 2019 and is currently holding this position. From 2010 to 2013, he served as the Special Assistant to the Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In the 10th parliamentary elections of 2014, Hanif was elected as a party candidate from Kushtia-3 constituency and was elected as a member of parliament for the first time. In the 11th National Assembly elections held in 2018, he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament from the same constituency.
