A. S. M. Shahjahan (9 March 1941 – 5 February 2019) was a Bangladeshi government police officer, civil servant and educator. He served as Adviser to non-party Caretaker government of Bangladesh in 2001, led by Chief Justice Latifur Rahman. He also served as the Inspector General of Police of Bangladesh and also served as the Secretary.

Shahjahan was born in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district. He joined the then East Pakistan Police Force in 1966 as a Superintendent of Police. He was appointed as the first Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on 1 February 1976. He served as CID chief twice. From January 2, 1991 to October 16, 1991, he was the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. On July 8, 1992, he assumed responsibility as the 15th Inspector General of Police of Bangladesh and held this position until 22 April 1996. Later, he served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of Bangladesh from 1996 until his retirement in 1999.

Shahjahan was an advisor on the Police Reform Program under the United Nations Development Programme. He played an important role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Bangladesh Police under this program in coordination with United Nations Development Programme, European Commission and UK Aid.

Shahjahan was sworn in as Adviser, a position equivalent to that of a Cabinet Minister of the non-party Caretaker Government on 15 July 2001 led by the Honorable President of Bangladesh Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed. He was given the charge of Ministry of Education, Primary and Mass Education Division, Ministry of Science and Technology & Ministry of Youth and Sports. He served this duty till October 10, 2001. He also worked as Member Advisory Council on Law and Order, Member Advisory Council on Administration for the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Shahjahan also served as the President of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon (BAPA), Vice-Chancellor of University of Asia Pacific and Member of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

Shahjahan died on February 6, 2019 in a hospital in Dhaka due to Parkinson's disease.
