Bazlur Rahman (3 August 1941 - 26 February 2008) was a renowned journalist and freedom fighter of Bangladesh. He received the Freedom Medal in 2012 for his special contribution to journalism.

Rahman was born in Baneshwardi village under Nokla of Sherpur district. He was actively involved in politics of the Communist Party of Bangladesh and National Awami Party (Mozaffar) at a point of his life. He passed from Dhaka University. Rahman is the husband of former minister and Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury.

Rahman joined Sangbad as assistant editor in 1961 and started journalism. After a few days, he became the editor of the newspaper. He served in this position till his death. Apart from this, he was the editor of weekly Ekta. Worked at Dainik Ittefa for some time. His participation was in the liberation war, the student movement of 62, the 6-point movement of 66, the popular uprising of 68-69-70, the non-cooperation movement of 71, the anti-military regime movement after the assassination of the father of the nation Bangabandhu and the anti-dictatorship movement of the 90s. He also took a strong stand against irregularities and anti-democratic activities during the caretaker government.

When Rahman was a student of Dhaka University in 1962, he then actively participated in the anti-education commission movement. Besides, in 1966, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur RahmanAfter announcing the 6-point demand of the East Bengal Liberation Charter, Rahman actively campaigned to support it and build overall public opinion in its favor.

Rahman was known as a progressive, secular and a free thinking journalist. For his journalistic excellence he was awarded Freedom Fighter Journalists' Award and Mymensingh Press Club Award. He was a member of the boards of directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Bangladesh Press Council. He was also the acting president of National Press Club. He was well known as an organiser of children, for being one of the founders of Khelaghar, a children's organisation.

Rahman died on 26 February 2008 for a massive heart attack.
