Panthapath subsides again after reopening

A lane of the two-way Panthapath subsided again on Sunday evening after it was reopened to traffic in the morning.Traffic on the lane remained suspended since Thursday after National Bank’s under-construction site near it caved in.Sonargaon intersection traffic inspector Khadimul Islam said the lane was again closed to traffic after further subsidence around 7:45pm.No casualties were reported.
CR Dutta Road was still closed as sand filling at the construction site continued on the day.Traffic on Panthapath’s southern lane resumed Sunday morning, four days after it was closed following the subsidence of National Bank’s under-construction site, said Dhaka south city mayor Sayeed Khokon.CR Dutta Road and Sundarban Hotel were still closed and sand-filling work was underway to mend the road that sank along the construction site.A case was filed again National Bank Limited and construction firms while the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha said on Saturday that it suspended an inspector and served show caused notices on two senior officers for their failure to inspect the construction site of NBL that subsided.
