Indian voter ID card issued in Hasina’s name

An Indian voter ID was issued in the name of Bangladeshi prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, in the city of Bengaluru in India. The card clearly shows a smiling photograph of the Bangladeshi prime minister and the name of her late husband, Wazed Miah, as reported by India Today. The card shares other information such as the name, and spouse name correctly, but the date of birth is mentioned as 1992. As per the ID, Hasina is a resident of Thanisandra area in Bengaluru. This is one of the many cases of faux voter ID that has come to the light. The news came just as the election dates were announced in the city, reported India Today. The Indian media has been seized by a storm over a picture of the voter ID card posted online. According to the report, the Karnataka Home Minister K J George was quick to brush this incident under the carpet and said this is not an authentic ID card. ‘I don’t think this is an authentic ID card. I will order a probe into the matter,’ KJ George said. News Courtesy: www.newagebd.net
