Nine-day Eid vacation this year

The three-day Eid vacation is likely to be extended to nine days as the government has decided to declare July 4, the only office day before Eid, a public holiday, by an executive order for this year so that home goers could celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr comfortably.
The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, on Tuesday approved a summary of the public administration ministry’s proposal to effect with a condition that all public offices will remain open on July 16, a Saturday, a senior official confirmed.
So, offices will remain closed from July 1 to July 9.
The ministry is expected to issue a gazette notification on the extension of the Eid holiday today.
The three-day Eid vacation was supposed to begin on July 5 and July 3 was also a public holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr while the vacation is merged with two weekends.
The Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated either on July 6 or 7 depending on the sighting of the moon.
