PM flies to NY today to attend 70th UNGA

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina leaves for New York today morning on an eight-day official visit to the United States to attend the 70th United Nations General Assembly. A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and members of her entourage is scheduled to take off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:45am.

ADB projects 6.7pc growth for FY16

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir returned home tonight (Monday night) after taking medical treatment abroad for nearly two months, report United News of Bangladesh. ‘Mirza Fakhrul arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a Singapore Airlines flight around 10:40pm,’ BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB. Govt controlling mass media through secret policy: BNP

BASIC BANK SCAM : 18 cases filed against 154 people

The Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday filed 18 cases against 154 BASIC Bank officials and 18 business firms on charge of embezzlement of Tk 705.80 crore from the bank. The commission, however, did not prosecute former BASIC Bank chairman Sheikh Abdul Hai Bacchu.
