A clash broke out between hawkers and a Dhaka South City Corporation team during a drive to remove illegal makeshift shops from pavements and the underpass market at Gulistan on Thursday.
Bangladesh Chhatra League and other associated bodies of the ruling Awami League came in support of the city corporation and opened fire at the hawkers, who also pelted stones to them.
The evicted hawkers brought out a protest rally against the eviction drive alleging that the drive was conducted without notice where Sabbir and Ashiq were seen to wield fire arms to disperse agitating hawkers.
