Child killed, six hurt in city gas cylinder blast

A child was killed and six people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Dhalpur of Jatrabari in the city on Friday.

The identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

The gas cylinder went off in a house with a big bang, leaving the child dead on the spot and six others injured around 7:00am, said sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp.

Later they were taken to the burn unit of the DMCH around 8:30am.
